Why it exists

Kona is a simple coffee-shop rating app. Rate cafes from half a star to five, with an optional drink and visit date, and track the places you have been. Location-aware search finds shops near you using OpenStreetMap, public profiles are shareable, and a homepage feed shows recent ratings from everyone. It is built with Next.js, Supabase and Tailwind, and carries a self-applied vibe-coded topic.

Searched 'Starbucks' from the ratings page and got five real named locations with addresses, no login needed, and the half-star claim holds up: ten distinct buttons from half a star to five in half-point steps. But picking a shop, rating it four stars, and hitting Save rating did nothing at all as a guest: no error, no login prompt, no network request even fired. So the one thing the app lets you do without an account quietly doesn't save. Visit tracking, the public profile and nearby search are all behind login and I couldn't reach any of them to check.
