Monster Lab
A mix-and-match monster flip book for young kids: make a monster, answer four questions, print its card, or play monster games.

A tiny website for young children. Flip a monster's head, body and legs, answer four questions about the monster you made, and get a card to print. Then play games with the monsters.
It started as a printed mix-and-match flip book: 30 monsters, each page cut into three strips, so heads, bodies and legs flip independently. The book's last page asks four questions about the monster you made, and the answers needed somewhere to live, so the book got a website.
The site does the same thing as the book, on a phone: flip the strips, meet your monster, make a printable card, and keep every saved monster on the device. It also has games made from the same 30 monsters, including Monster match, Whack-a-monster and Monster bedtime, plus Halloween extras like a torch hunt, a pumpkin face maker and printable masks.
It's one HTML file and 120 images: no framework, no build step, no server, no accounts and no analytics. Saved monsters live in localStorage, with backup and restore.
