Why it exists

PrismWealth is an interactive fintech MVP for Indian retail investors who hold several mutual funds that own the same stocks.

It has four tools:

  • Mutual fund overlap detector: pick funds and see the stocks they share and the fee drag from duplicate expense ratios.
  • Smart goal-SIP allocator: a compounding calculator with inflation adjustment and an equity, debt and gold split.
  • LTCG tax harvester: shows the tax saved by booking gains inside the ₹1.25 lakh yearly exemption.
  • Crisis stress-tester: shows how portfolios recovered after 2008, 2020 and the 2022 tech pullback.

The app also includes the product requirements document behind it. Built with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Recharts on Bolt.new.

The overlap detection across mutual funds is a useful idea, since many investors unknowingly duplicate holdings through different fund schemes. One thing worth testing: how does the dashboard handle funds that recently changed benchmarks or category classification, since overlap calculations depend heavily on accurate, current portfolio data rather than stale fact sheets.
