Why it exists

Kairo imports DRM-free EPUB and MOBI books, lets you read them normally, then shifts into word-by-word RSVP playback when you want to move faster.

Pacing adapts around punctuation and sentence breaks instead of running at one flat rate, and the optimal recognition point is highlighted in each word.

Tried Kairo on a couple of technical EPUBs I had lying around. The punctuation-aware pacing is the one feature I actually noticed working, it pauses at commas and periods instead of just blasting words at a fixed rate. What I care about is what happens on malformed EPUBs or weird MOBI exports, since I've had readers just silently choke on those. No crash yet, but I haven't thrown enough edge cases at it to trust it fully.
