Tried MemeRooms over a weekend build break. The upload-your-own-entities bit is genuinely fun, dropped in a couple of custom images and it worked without fuss. Procedural room generation felt repetitive after a few runs though, layouts start looking samey. Mood modes are a nice touch for changing pace without restarting. Setup was straightforward, no account faff. Decent for short sessions, wouldn't call it deep yet.

Went through this looking for patterns in discretionary allocations across boroughs. The reconciliation work from PDF budget docs is the real value here, that's tedious data entry most people skip. Setup was just a CSV download for me, no API or auth needed. Wish there was a way to filter by council member directly rather than scanning fiscal years manually. Useful reference if you're building anything civic-data adjacent.

The 3D navigation is the interesting bit, moving through poet-clusters feels different from a flat search results page, though on my laptop the frame rate dropped when I zoomed out to see the whole galaxy. No onboarding on how coordinates map to poems, so I spent a few minutes guessing. Wish there was a way to bookmark a star for later. Decent concept, needs performance tuning before I'd show it to non-technical friends.

Tried Fitdrop over a weekend build sprint to see how matter.js handles draggable fashion cards. Physics feel decent once loaded, but initial asset load was heavier than expected, had to lazy-load the AI-generated images to stop the tab from choking on mobile. No auth or backend needed which is refreshing for a portfolio piece. Decade filtering works cleanly. Worth studying the collision setup if you're building similar drag interactions.

Went through the first dozen modules setting up DS Academy for our onboarding process. The spaced repetition scheduling is the standout bit, it actually resurfaces concepts before you forget them instead of just dumping content on a fixed calendar. Setup took longer than expected though, importing existing notes into their module structure isn't obvious and the docs don't cover it well. Timed drills are decent for interview prep once you're past the initial config grind.

Tried this for my kid's holiday routine. The battle-as-quiz loop is decent, pixel art and chiptune actually hold up and don't feel like filler. Setup was a bit of friction though, took some poking around to figure out how question sets get selected for a session. No difficulty scaling that I could find either. Fine as a focused revision tool, not a full curriculum replacement.
